Where will my appointments be held?
Appointments are typically held either online or face to face around the Gosforth area in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Specific details will be provided upon booking.
What are the local transport links?
Our gosforth location is easily accessible by public transport. We are close to various bus routes and Metro details on request.
What should I do if I am running late or have a last-minute emergency?
Please inform us as soon as possible if you anticipate being late or need to cancel due to an emergency. You can contact us on 07762666495.
Can I bring someone with me to the session?
You can bring someone along with you please discuss this with Joanna prior to your appointment to ensure therapeutic location is appropriate.
Will my session remain confidential?
All sessions are confidential, in line with professional ethical guidelines and legal requirements. However if you pose a danger to yourself or others relevant parties may need to be contacted.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions varies depending on individual needs and goals. A minimum of 4-8 sessions is recommended for Dietetics and CBT can range from 6-20 sessions or up to 40 in CBT E for underweight patients.
What will happen in my first appointment?
Your first appointment will involve an assessment of your needs, a discussion of your goals, and an outline of how we can work together.
How do I pay for my session?
Payment for initial sessions will be taken prior to the appointment 48 hours before via bank transfer. Subsequent appointments requested within 48 hours after appointments.
What about remote sessions?
We offer remote sessions for your convenience. A Google Meet invite link will be emailed prior to your appointments. Please ensure your signal is strong. If you are unable to connect you will still be charged for the session.
Do you take self-referrals?
Yes, we welcome self-referrals alongside referrals from GP's and other health professionals. You can contact us directly to arrange an initial consultation.
What is your cancellation policy?
I hope to start and finish all sessions on time, unless there is an emergency. Please arrive a couple of minutes before your appointment start time. I am unable to extend appointments as another client may be waiting.
If you cancel your appointment with more than 72 hours’ notice, there will be no charge. I am rarely able to fill a cancelled session unless I know at least 72 hours in advance. If you cancel less than 72 hours’ notice then there will be 50% charge for the appointment and if less than 24 hours’ notice then full payment will be required.
